NCC Workforce Development was formed in 2006 to support employer engagement within the Further Education sector. This employer-led initiative allows national employers to engage with Colleges of Further Education and ensures continuity of delivery and standardisation of approach.
Through a consortium of colleges, NCC Workforce Development is able to offer National coverage for medium to large sized employers, offering a single interface with centralised controls, quality systems and
data reporting.
Through NCC Workforce Development, colleges are able to support employers in successfully up-skilling staff through standardised and consistent training. This offer of a total training solution enables us to seek significant financial contributions from employers through economies of scale and a balance between funded and non-funded training.
The Model
NCC Workforce Development engages with employers with a national or regional training requirement and who are prepared to contribute toward the cost of training from their training budget.
Employer training plans are then developed to identify training requirements, from which a detailed regional/national training strategy is produced including details of fee contributions.
NCC Workforce Development then creates a work order process that distributes the various training requirements to identified colleges within the geographical or specialist areas.

• Support delivery of provision in specialist areas not previously undertaken by the college
• Offer membership to a forum of consortium colleges that promotes networking and development of best practice
