i-Portfolio

i-Portfolio was conceived to bring together the knowledge and expertise from two organisations, who have been leading their respective markets with complimentary products. i-Can is the design team behind the system. In 1999 they created the first and most widely used web based e-assessment system for competence based qualifications, which had over 500,000 users. In 2007, the business was bought by one of the largest UK Awarding Bodies.

NCC Resources has been developing learning resources for a period in excess of fourteen years. The learning resources available include NVQ’s, VRQ’s (NQF and QCF), Embedded Skills for Life, Accredited Awards, Commercial Seminars and online.

The i-Portfolio system is fully customisable and provides e-assessment processes for all types of qualifications. In addition, the system facilitates the uploading of underpinning knowledge learning materials and activities suitable for the end user, which can be used individually, or collated into an iWorkbook. The materials can be those currently available through NCC, or can be supplied and uploaded by a third party, such as a College.

i-Portfolio has a built in Learner Management System (LMS) and also provides an ILR and ILP, which negates the need to purchase any additional systems for SFA contracts. Learners, Assessors, IV’s, EV’s and Centre Managers etc. are all able to access the system through their own unique login, and the relevant functionality and information that they require in their role is presented to them.

To summarise, i-Portfolio is the only system which provides organisations involved in training and assessment of UK accredited qualifications the functionality and management process requirements needed to effectively run their business. i-Can are also in the final stages of gaining Awarding Body status, giving the benefit of additionally utilising the system for programme accreditation, registration and certification purposes.
